20 minutes by car from the town centre of Chiang Mai is Green Valley Country Club, a championship 18-hole golf course, part of the Green Valley Group of country clubs in Thailand. The appearance of the faiways, lined with palm trees, seems wide, but golfers must be careful in that traps like water hazards and bunkers are plentiful and carefully sited by the course designer, thus making the fairways narrow and leaving no room for the wayward shots. Within and around the golf course, there are also land allocated for housing estate providing a serene view of the lake. The total area covers 1,300 rais.Taxi cost there should be in the region of around 200 bahts one way. Ideally one should come to an arrangement with the driver to cover the round trip for around 400 bahts. However pay him the full amount upon completing the round trip ensuring that he will be there to take you back to your hotel.
